You've always had it.....

The Dorothy In You

Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, was a jewel of a girl. Lost and raised in a dry world of destitute, impoverishment and despair but yet was able to see the bright side of things, determined and greatly cared for others. Desperately searching for what she thought she did not possess along with her friends that mirrored the very qualities Dorothy possessed inwardly; Courage, Heart, and Brains. Unfortunately like Dorothy and her friends Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow we all seek outwardly searching for characteristics, strengths and skills that we have had all alone but often life sometimes intervenes and we often lose sight of them and ourself as a whole.

We all can learn from little Dorothy and the symbolism of her friends and their journey. Although Dorothy lived a life most look down upon, she was still a respectful,  kind-hearted and honest human being. Dorothy was able to hold tight her dreams and was determined to make them come true. She did not allow the solitude of her life circumstances; trails and tribulations stop her from moving forward on her journey.

Dorothy’s kind and loving spirit attracted to her friends that had her best interest at heart. Dorothy was a loyal friend throughout L. Baum’s books. She was loyal to her family as well as her pet Toto. Dorothy represents the young at heart that lies in us all. Along her journey, Dorothy had to surrender and be open to the journey that lies ahead. Dorothy was able to show us that she posses all 3 of the traits she subconsciously was looking for simply because the Scarecrow, Lion, and Tinman were all symbols of her own self-conscious.

Dorothy possessed inner strength because she was able to continuously believe in her self and friends while remaining humble yet human, as there were moments she when she did feel afraid. Dorothy did not allow her fear of not returning home, the witches, or any of the other stumbling blocks she encountered during her journey to stop her. You see if we take a look at mostly all of the fairytales and heroic stores over our lifespan; Dorothy was not a frail woman in need of a hero to save her; she was a hero within her own right. She was longing for something far beyond the dry land of Kansas and simply wanted more for herself.

What are you yearning for? Have life’s stumbling blocks stopped you from being true to your self and living the life you know you deserve? Well, Mission Dorothy is here to help you navigate through the fear and remove the mental blocks that are in the way. Our mission is to help women and girls realize that they already possess what they are looking outwardly for. All you need is to start your own journey of self-discovery and we are here to help you navigate through life in order to get there.
